Well, the "let 'er rip" is a bit vague, and I wasn't sure if it was referring to stuff coming out the front or the back side. :D

The MARPOL Convention (http://www.imo.org/Conventions/contents.asp?doc_id=678&topic_id=258) was originally established to prevent pollution from commercial vessels. I highly doubt that they would crack down on a couple of ounces of 'sailors sauce' from a pregnant woman. There are, however, still some boaters who dump their sewage straight into Lake Ontario. The MARPOL Convention would definitely apply to them and I hope they do get caught. I will do a post sometime in the future about how I manage my sewage during the winter.

Strathy

A. (my wife) was between three and four months pregnant at the time. Now, the way that the Alberg 30 is designed a person can stand inside the companionway facing outside and when the desire so arises they can simple lean out and let 'er rip into a bucket sitting on the ledge of the cockpit. Then the person behind the tiller, can grab the bucket, fling it over the side, rinse it out with lakewater and place it back for the next episode. Ah, the joy of sailing one's own boat.

I don't know if you are aware that this is illegal in the Great Lakes, and can get you into a lot of trouble if you're caught doing this. The MARPOL (Marine Pollution) regulations prevent this, and can hit you with serious fines and possibly jail time for doing this.
